Wowee! What a city!
I loved all the street art. There seems to be no wall untagged and unpainted. This first one was along the wall of the fire station.
The empty spaces and faces dedicated to the Jews killed in the Holocaust at the Jewish Museum created a thoughtful journey through the history of Jews in Germany. A photo exhibition described the immigration of Russian Jews to Germany in the 50s and the challenges they faced integrating into German life.
And the wavering blocks of the Holocaust Memorial.
LOVE the trains (and being a rebel and riding them for free)…
LOVE that there is so much happening all the time. Fete de la Musique, an international music festival, happened around the city on Thursday and I spent the evening until early the next morning walking along the streets, finding music surprises around the corners, bopping on the pavements, drinking man-sized beers in the open and sharing connections with happy crowds.
There are two stretches of the Berlin Wall still standing. This piece at Muhlenstrasse is named the East Side Gallery and is a colourful exhibition along the river.
The Gay Pride festival was on Saturday and I got in some accidental sightseeing while enjoying the fabulous drag queens, food stalls and partying crowd.
Awesome Pics
Thanks!
Loved the photos – brings back memories of a wonderful visit – Mum
